Volos FC disputes financial allegations by former player Antonio Luna

Volos FC has issued a formal response to allegations made by former Spanish defender Antonio Luna regarding unpaid wages. In a recent podcast interview, the 35-year-old former Aston Villa and La Liga player claimed that the club management pressured him to accept significant salary reductions and accused the organization of financial misconduct.

Volos FC management dismissed these claims as “false statements” driven by malice and ulterior motives. The club released a formal declaration previously signed by Luna just before his departure, which explicitly states that he has been fully paid and holds no remaining financial claims against the club.

The club also questioned the timing of the allegations, noting that they surfaced three years after his departure and coincided with upcoming matches against Panathinaikos.
