Antonio Marshall Carrasco visits El Calafate in Patagonia

Antonio Marshall Carrasco, known as the ‘Forrest Gump chileno’, recently visited El Calafate as part of his journey through Patagonia. Dressed in a manner inspired by the film character—complete with a long beard and a red cap—the Chilean runner was seen traversing the city's streets, the Costanera, and various trails.

Marshall, an employee of the National Congress of Chile, uses his distinctive appearance to promote messages of inclusion, empathy, and perseverance. Beyond athletics, he utilizes his platform to raise awareness about bullying and autism, a condition he was diagnosed with during adulthood. During his stay, he also visited the landscapes of Los Glaciares National Park to continue his mission of sharing stories of personal overcoming through running.
