Antonio Marte announces presidential aspirations and pension reform plans

Senator Antonio Marte, president of the Primero la Gente (PPG) party, has announced his aspiration to become the President of the Dominican Republic. Marte is currently developing a national growth strategy for his party aimed at the 2028 elections.

As part of his political platform, Marte proposed legislative changes to allow pension funds to be used for productive investments. He envisions using these funds to facilitate loans for new business ventures, housing construction, and the creation of new industries, which would allow workers to become shareholders in these developments.

Other key pillars of his proposed agenda include the reorganization of the transportation system, stricter controls on irregular immigration, and increased investment in renewable energy. Marte noted that his party is currently expanding its territorial structures across all 32 provinces.
