Antonio Miloshoski criticizes Supreme Court in North Macedonia

Antonio Miloshoski, a Member of Parliament from VMRO-DPMNE, has raised concerns regarding the judicial system in North Macedonia. He identified the Supreme Court as a critical actor, suggesting that certain judges may be undermining established legal standards.

Miloshoski specifically highlighted two high-interest cases, “Laskarci” and “Durmo Tursh” (related to the Modular Hospital), noting that despite efforts from the executive branch, the Ministry of Interior, and the prosecution to provide evidence, the Supreme Court, led by President Fidani, has overturned previous verdicts and returned them to the Court of Appeals for retrial.

He argued that public accountability should extend beyond politicians, including ministers and prime ministers, to include specific judges. Miloshoski stated that while the Assembly has passed laws to improve the judicial and prosecutorial services, the actions of certain individuals within the judiciary must be scrutinized to ensure the rule of law.
