Antonio Pavan, renowned Italian jeweler and gemmologist, dies at 81
Antonio Pavan, a highly respected Italian jeweler, gemmologist, and watchmaker, has passed away at the age of 81. His funeral was held on Wednesday, August 26, at the San Pio X church in Monza.
In 1969, Pavan co-founded Gioielleria Pavan with his wife, Marilena. The business was later recognized as a historical activity by the Lombardy Region. Pavan was noted for his specialized expertise, which included analyzing the gems of Queen Teodolinda’s treasures and the Iron Crown, as well as repairing the monumental clock of the Monza Cathedral.
Beyond his professional achievements as a member of the Italian Gemmological Institute, Pavan was an active community figure, serving as president of the Lions Club Monza Duomo. His professional legacy continues through his children, Silvia Laura and Andrea, who manage the family business.
