Antonio Pérez Foundation hosts Pere Sousa Mail Art exhibition

The Antonio Pérez Foundation in Cuenca is hosting the exhibition ‘Pere Sousa. Ediciones desde la constelación Merz (Colecciones MIDE-CIANT)’, which will run until January 10, 2027. Curated by Ana Navarrete, the exhibition explores the role of publishing within Mail Art (Postal Art) through magazines, books, and self-published works associated with Pere Sousa (1955–2023).

Sousa was a significant figure in Spanish Mail Art, serving as an editor, cultural activist, and radio producer who helped build an international network of artists through direct communication and exchange. The exhibition is the result of research conducted by the International Museum of Electrography – Center for Innovation in Art and New Technologies (MIDE-CIANT) following a donation of Mail Art works in 2019.

The inauguration included a performance titled ‘Eternal Network. Homenaje’, which paid tribute to Mail Art artists including Sousa, Nel Amaro, Ibirico, and Clemente Padín.
