Antonio Raimondo credits Siniša Mihajlović for Serie A success
Antonio Raimondo, the current top scorer in Serie A with seven goals in seven matches, has credited the late Siniša Mihajlović for launching his professional career. The 22-year-old Frosinone striker, who rose through the ranks at Bologna, recalls how Mihajlović gave him his Serie A debut when he was just 17 years old.
Raimondo shared a poignant memory of meeting Mihajlović at the Bologna training center during the coach's battle with illness. He recalled the coach promising him a chance to play, a commitment Mihajlović fulfilled by starting him in a match against Genoa.
Following Mihajlović's passing, Raimondo experienced a period of professional fluctuation, including loan spells at Terni, Venezia, Salernitana, and Salerno. His recent resurgence at Frosinone, highlighted by a recent hat-trick, has placed him at the top of the scoring charts and brought him closer to a potential call-up for the Italian national team.
