Frosinone secures 4-2 victory over Sassuolo led by Raimondo hat-trick
Frosinone defeated Sassuolo 4-2 at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, moving into fourth place in the Serie A standings with 13 points. The match was defined by a historic performance from 22-year-old striker Antonio Raimondo, who scored a hat-trick. Raimondo became the youngest Italian player in Frosinone history to achieve a Serie A hat-trick, a feat previously held by Domenico Berardi.
Despite Sassuolo finding an equalizer through Berardi and later extending their lead via Thorstvedt, Frosinone maintained high efficiency. Advanced metrics indicated a closely contested match, with Frosinone's Expected Goals (xG) at 2.08 compared to Sassuolo's 1.92. Raimondo's clinical finishing proved to be the decisive factor, capitalizing on defensive errors to secure the win for coach Massimiliano Alvini's side.
