Antonio Souaré announces bid for Féguifoot presidency

Antonio Souaré, the former president of the Guinean Football Federation (Féguifoot) and current Chairman of the Board of Horoya AC, has announced his intention to run for the presidency of the federation again.

Speaking during an interview on the Ivorian channel La3, Souaré stated that he possesses the experience and vision necessary to reconstruct Guinean football, which he describes as being in a difficult state. He expressed a desire to lead a mission to ‘save’ the sport and restore what he believes has been destroyed in recent years.

Souaré emphasized the need for political involvement to resolve governance crises, explicitly calling for the intervention of the Head of State to foster consensus and provide necessary resources. He suggested that without such high-level involvement, the footballing landscape may fail to improve. The election for the new executive committee is scheduled to take place in Conakry on October 27, 2026.
