Antonis Tzikas, former Kokkinogi Community President, dies at 67

Antonis Tzikas, the former Community President of Kokkinogi in Elassona, has passed away at the age of 67. His funeral service is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Holy Temple of Saint Anthony in Kokkinogi.

Tzikas served the local administration with distinction, acting as President of the Kokkinogi Community from 1994 to 1998 and serving as a community and municipal councilor for the former Municipality of Olympus. His tenure was marked by significant infrastructure improvements, including the renovation of the central square, the modernization of the water supply network, and the implementation of waste management systems.

In addition to his administrative work, he supported the agricultural sector by facilitating drilling projects for land irrigation and contributed to local culture by founding community associations and establishing a local library. Professionally, he was active in the agricultural sector and operated the traditional Dionysus tavern, which served as a local landmark.
