Antonny Monreal leaves Escorpiones amid transfer speculation

Mexican goalkeeper Antonny Monreal has departed the Costa Rican club Escorpiones without making an official debut. The newly promoted team released a statement thanking the player and wishing him success in future challenges.

Monreal’s recent career movements have been marked by uncertainty. While he was previously linked to Deportivo Saprissa, his agent, Luis García, stated that the club’s sporting direction never showed concrete interest in the goalkeeper. García suggested Saprissa may have preferred to utilize their domestic player slots rather than spending a foreign player slot on a goalkeeper, given their existing options like Abraham Madriz and Ian O’Rourke.

Following his departure from Escorpiones, speculation suggests Monreal may move to Inter San Carlos.
