Antony Starr rejects fan theories regarding Homelander's redemption

Actor Antony Starr has reacted strongly to fans who suggest his character Homelander from ‘The Boys’ is redeemable. During a Sony Pictures Television panel in Los Angeles in mid-October, Starr expressed visible recoil and used dark humor when approached by individuals arguing for the character's redemption, at one point joking, “Hope you don’t have kids… don’t breed.”

Starr has consistently maintained that Homelander is a monster rather than a hero. He has previously stated at the Golden Globes that the character should not be redeemed, emphasizing that while audiences should understand the character's history and trauma, they should not feel sympathy for him. He has described the experience of fans glorifying the character as surreal.

While the debate over the character continues, viewership for the series remains high. According to Prime Video, the fifth season averaged 57 million viewers per episode worldwide in its first 39 days.
