Antriebstechnik SAFTIG sold to DEMIS and SAPEK, preserving most jobs

Antriebstechnik SAFTIG GmbH, a family‑owned engineering firm in Germany, filed for insolvency in May 2026. The insolvency administrator, Jens Lieser, completed a sale of the company's core divisions to two investors on 1 August 2026.

DEMIS GmbH of Wölfersheim acquired the Plaidt site’s electromechanical, drive‑technology, electrical‑engineering and automation units, as well as technical service and industrial assembly. SAPEK Metal Solutions GmbH, linked to the former owners, took over the Kottenheim site’s sheet‑metal, forming‑technology, steel‑construction and plant‑building divisions. About 85 of the roughly 110 jobs will be retained, while around 25 positions, mainly at the Saffig site, could not be saved because no buyer was found.

The transaction is described as a “tragfähige Zukunftslösung” (viable future solution) that secures the majority of the workforce and maintains the company’s long‑standing expertise in the sector.
