ANTT authorizes land expropriations for BR-277 highway works
The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has authorized the expropriation of land along a 27.7-kilometer stretch of the BR-277 highway, spanning the municipalities of Paranaguá, Irati, and Palmeira. This measure is intended to facilitate road duplication and the implementation of additional lanes.
The works are being managed by two concessionaires: Via Araucária and EPR Litoral Pioneiro. EPR Litoral Pioneiro is authorized to implement an additional lane between kilometers 4.7 and 6.5 in Paranaguá. Via Araucária has received authorization for duplication works in Palmeira (kilometers 153.9 to 164.7) and Irati (kilometers 266.094 to 281.2).
ANTT has stipulated that expropriations must be strictly limited to the areas essential for the execution of the projects. The current regulatory model for these Paraná highway lots is noted for having more detailed investment obligations and oversight mechanisms compared to the previous state-managed concession models used in the 1990s.
