AnTuTu releases V12 beta with overhauled performance testing

AnTuTu has released the public beta version of its V12 benchmark, introducing a comprehensive overhaul of its testing protocols for CPUs, GPUs, memory, and user experience (UX). The update aims to move away from high-frequency marketing numbers toward reflecting real-world device performance.

The new CPU testing models focus on how processors balance high-performance bursts with power-saving modes during typical usage. The GPU tests have been upgraded with more demanding 3D scenes featuring realistic lighting and shadows, alongside a new Vulkan-based collaborative matrix test.

Memory testing now includes dynamic latency stress tests and fragmentation tests to observe performance decay as storage fills up. Additionally, the UX module has transitioned to an algorithm that tracks actual operating system rendering and input response, such as app launch speeds and animation smoothness. Due to these fundamental changes in scoring logic and workloads, V12 scores are not comparable to previous V11 results.
