Royal Antwerp signs Ibrahim Salah and appoints Marvin Compper as coach
Royal Antwerp FC is close to completing the transfer of 24‑year‑old winger Ibrahim Salah from FC Basel. Salah, a Moroccan‑Belgian international, previously played for KAA Gent, Stade Rennais, Stade Brestois and Basel, making 35 appearances last season. The club sees him as a fast, dribbling option for the left flank.
Antwerp is also nearing a deal with former German defender Marvin Compper to become head coach. Compper, 41, has served as an assistant at MSV Duisburg, Lokomotiv Moscow, RB Leipzig and St Gallen and holds a UEFA Pro Licence earned in Belgium. The appointment would be his first senior managerial role.
Standard Liège announced the signing of Bulgarian left‑winger Sylvester Jasper from FK Železničar Pančevo for around €1.2 million. Jasper, 24, previously played in England, Scotland, Portugal, Poland and Serbia, recording seven goals and seven assists in his last season.
Separately, 23‑year‑old defender Lukas Willen left Zulte Waregem to join Polish side Pogoń Szczecin on a contract running to June 2029 after a career that began in the youth ranks of Club Brugge.
