DP World launches €48 million cold‑chain logistics hub in Antwerp
DP World will build a new temperature‑controlled logistics centre at the Port of Antwerp. The project starts with an initial €48 million investment, with later phases bringing total spending to about €100 million. The 83,000 m² site sits next to the Antwerp Gateway container terminal and will include more than 55,000 m² of specialised warehousing and office space. The facility is designed for cold‑chain handling of pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, fresh produce such as bananas, and also chemicals and technology goods, offering value‑added services like consolidation and de‑consolidation. It will be built in partnership with logistics‑real‑estate specialist Montea and Maatschappij Linkerscheldeoever (MLSO) and aims for BREEAM Excellent certification. Construction is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with operations expected to start in the second quarter of 2028.
