Antwerp Unfiltered exhibition to showcase city views at the Steen
The Antwerp Unfiltered exhibition is opening at the Steen on September 27. This free exhibition features analog photographs captured by more than 100 residents and enthusiasts of Antwerp using disposable cameras.
The collection includes a selection from over 3,000 spontaneous, unedited images that offer a personal and unfiltered perspective of the city. Participants, including influencers, photographers, and city employees, captured various aspects of urban life, ranging from local coffee shops and flower stores to hidden viewpoints and museums.
According to Koen Kennis, Alderman for Tourism, the exhibition highlights the pride residents feel for the city, noting that while no two photos are identical, they all share a common theme of affection for Antwerp. The exhibition is organized around five senses: sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell.
