AJL40 music awards feature diverse performances and vocal honors

The 40th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL40) featured several notable performances and milestones. Singer Marsha Milan won the Best Vocal award, a sentimental achievement as it was her first award specifically for vocal ability, despite her performing while facing health challenges.

Aina Abdul shared that she initially considered a more modest performance for her song ‘Kamu’ but ultimately decided to follow her artistic instincts. Her performance utilized a volcano concept to symbolize anger and betrayal.

Newcomer group K.O.I utilized a DIY approach for their performance of ‘Tiwikarma’ due to budget constraints. The group manually prepared 200,000 pieces of paper containing humanitarian messages to be scattered across the Unifi Arena, aiming to convey a universal message regarding the suffering of oppressed people.
