Anupam Kher celebrates 25th show of Hindi play in Toronto
Actor Anupam Kher celebrated a milestone for his Hindi play, ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane’, marking its 25th show during a North American tour in Toronto. The production, written and directed by Gajendra Iyer and starring Kher alongside Swaroop Sampat, is a contemporary stage production aimed at bringing South Asian theater to audiences across the continent.
Reflecting on the performance, Kher described the tour as a “great success” and noted the significant connection he has maintained with Toronto through previous film appearances at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). He also highlighted the unique emotional connection of live theater, stating that unlike film, a play allows for a shared “heartbeat” between the performer and the audience.
The tour, which began on September 18, is scheduled to continue through October 11. Upcoming stops include Detroit, Raleigh, New Jersey, New York, and concludes in Boston.
