Anupam Kher honored by Georgia Governor for cultural contributions
Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has received a commendation from the Governor of Georgia, Brian P. Kemp, and First Lady Marty Kemp. The honor recognizes Kher’s contributions to cinema, education, and the arts, as well as his role in strengthening cultural ties between India and the United States. During the presentation at the Georgia State Capitol, Kher presented the Governor and First Lady with a Rudraksh Mala from the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.
Kher described himself as an “unofficial cultural ambassador for India,” noting that this marks his third such honor in the United States during a recent twenty-day tour.
In a separate development, actor Govinda expressed high praise for Kher, describing him as one of India’s best and most approachable artists. Govinda, who has collaborated with Kher on several films including “Jodi No 1” and “Deewana Mastana,” is currently promoting his upcoming film “Roopa,” which marks his return to cinema.
