Anuradha Lekhi Gupta seeks privacy for children following Sanjay Gupta death
Anuradha Lekhi Gupta, the wife of late filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, has issued an appeal to the media requesting privacy and compassion for her adolescent children. The request follows a controversy involving a viral video that allegedly showed their daughter making an obscene gesture toward paparazzi at the filmmaker's funeral.
Sanjay Gupta, 57, passed away after sustaining a fatal head injury from an accidental fall at his home in Versova, Mumbai. Police reported that CCTV footage showed Gupta walking through his drawing room around 2 am before losing his balance. His family discovered him the following morning, and he was later declared dead at a hospital. The Versova police have registered an accidental death report and stated there is no evidence of foul play.
In a tribute shared via director Milap Zaveri, Lekhi Gupta described her husband as the backbone of their family and a generous storyteller. She urged the media to delete content that could cause lasting emotional scars on her children, asking for them to be understood as grieving children struggling with an irreparable loss.
