Anurag Jain assumes role as NITI Aayog CEO
Anurag Jain, a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has officially assumed office as the new Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog. His appointment was previously approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Jain brings nearly 40 years of experience in public administration, infrastructure, and policymaking. His previous roles include serving as the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh and holding secretary positions in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, as well as the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
In his new role, Jain will focus on policy planning, development initiatives, and enhancing coordination between the central and state governments. His tenure is expected to support India’s long-term development goals, including the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, with an emphasis on practical governance and effective program implementation.
