Anutin Charnvirakul cites scheduling difficulties for no-confidence debate
Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul stated that rescheduling the upcoming no-confidence debate will be difficult due to the heavy schedules of cabinet ministers. While the government expressed readiness to participate in the debate starting next week, disagreements between the government and the opposition regarding the timing have led to a stalemate.
Anutin noted that many ministers, including those targeted in the debate, have already postponed their commitments to accommodate a session next week. However, finding alternative dates is complicated by several upcoming international engagements, including the 33rd APEC Summit in China, the 49th ASEAN Summit in the Philippines, and a visit from the Prime Minister of China, as well as meetings with the OECD.
The decision on the new date now rests with the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Anutin emphasized that the government remains prepared for the proceedings and hopes for a swift resolution.
