Anutin Charnvirakul addresses upcoming no-confidence motion

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has addressed the upcoming no-confidence motion, stating that a late October timeframe for the debate is acceptable. He noted that while the opposition has requested five days for the debate, he considers that duration to be excessive.

The motion targets 18 cabinet members, with a heavy focus on the Bhumjaithai Party. Political analyst Thepthai Senpong indicated that ten of these ministers are being scrutinized primarily over allegations of Senate election fraud, as well as corruption in local government recruitment and budget mismanagement.

Despite the focus on Bhumjaithai, Anutin expressed confidence in the stability of the government coalition, asserting that the Pheu Thai Party will not abandon the administration. He noted that because Bhumjaithai holds 27 ministerial positions compared to Pheu Thai, it is statistically more likely to be the primary target of the opposition's scrutiny.
