Anutin Charnvirakul plans coalition meetings ahead of no-confidence debate

Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has announced plans to convene meetings with Cabinet members and coalition MPs to strengthen cooperation ahead of an upcoming no-confidence debate. The initiative aims to foster closer relationships through separate discussions for the Cabinet and parliamentary members, noting that such gatherings have not occurred frequently in the six months since they began working together.

Anutin stated that ministers are already prepared for the debate and are proactively planning their responses. He dismissed concerns regarding the need for a dedicated communications team to address government criticisms, suggesting that the current leadership is capable of handling inquiries.

In a separate development regarding Ministry of Interior leadership, the Cabinet has approved the reshuffling of 20 high-ranking official positions, effective October 1, 2026. Despite previous speculation that Atsit Sampantharat might be transferred to another ministry due to political pressure, he will remain in his current position as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Interior.
