Anutin seeks Senate approval for 400 billion baht energy loan

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is presenting an emergency decree to the Senate to authorize the Ministry of Finance to borrow 400 billion baht. The funds are intended to address energy crisis impacts and facilitate the country’s energy transition. The decree has already received approval from the House of Representatives.

Following the Senate session, the Cabinet is scheduled to hold a mobile meeting in Songkhla province. The agenda includes approving development principles for Songkhla and the southern border provinces to enhance tourism, economy, transportation, and industry, while improving disaster response and compensation mechanisms.

Additionally, the Prime Minister expressed high praise for the Thai women’s national volleyball team following their 2026 AVC Continental Championship victory and qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games, promising government support for the athletes.
