Anutin clarifies Bangkok's 200 million baht flood relief contribution

Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has addressed reports regarding a 200 million baht contribution from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for flood relief. Anutin stated that discussions between the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and the BMA are nearing a conclusion.

He emphasized that all Thai citizens meeting the criteria for disaster relief will receive assistance, regardless of whether they reside in Bangkok or other provinces. Anutin dismissed rumors claiming that flood relief funds had been exhausted, asserting that central budget funds have been set aside to ensure rapid assistance.

Furthermore, the Minister refuted claims that the Ministry of Interior was forcing the BMA to pay 200 million baht prematurely, labeling such reports as politically motivated misinformation. He also addressed the Democrat Party's intention to file a lawsuit with the Administrative Court regarding flood management, stating that the legal proceedings are up to them.
