Anvisa bans 12 cleaning products for lack of sanitary regulation
The Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has prohibited the manufacture, sale, distribution, advertising, and use of 12 cleaning products due to a lack of sanitary regulation. The decision, published in the Official Gazette, also mandates the seizure and recall of all units currently on the market.
The affected items include various brands of bleach, stain removers, and products based on sodium percarbonate. Anvisa identified that the responsible companies lacked the necessary Operating Authorization (AFE) or valid tax identification (CNPJ), and the products themselves lacked required registration or notification with the agency. This lack of oversight compromises the safety, efficacy, and quality control of the products.
The prohibited brands and products include Oxypur (Quimpack), Percarbonato de Sódio (Los Chefs, Vong Home, Nativa, Oxgen, Top Brilho), Alvejante Natural Multiuso (Nova Fórmula), Percarbonato Plus (Ans Agrária), Yta Clean, Alvejante Tira Mancha (Amigos Distribuidora), and Tira Mancha (FV Group). The measure applies to all batches of the mentioned products.
