Anvisa orders recall of counterfeit cosmetics and irregular cleaning products

Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has ordered the recall and seizure of several irregular cosmetics and cleaning products due to suspected falsification or lack of sanitary registration.

Among the affected items is a counterfeit batch (Lot 2 2511006) of Hidrafemme Intravaginal Moisturizing Gel. Helianto Farmacêutica, the registered owner, identified the fraudulent units on e-commerce platforms like Shopee, noting discrepancies in packaging size, applicators, and labeling.

Anvisa also seized specific batches (614323 and 614326) of Perspirex Strong Antitranspirant. Megalabs Farmacêutica reported that unknown manufacturers were using its registration data without authorization. Additionally, hair prosthesis adhesives MAV C-22 and GhostBond XL have been banned due to unknown origins.

In the cleaning supplies sector, Anvisa prohibited the sale of Mult Jet brand descaler and bleach produced by Ramos Indústria e Comércio de Materiais de Limpeza Ltda. Furthermore, the agency suspended all manufacturing and distribution for LGR Indústria e Comércio de Produtos de Limpeza Ltda. following inspections that revealed failures to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
