Anvisa suspends repellent lots and bans online dermatology products

Brazil's health regulator Anvisa issued a provisional interdiction of three insect‑repellent batches after unsatisfactory DEET test results. The affected lots – two Above Protect products from Baston Indústria de Aerossóis and one Repellere product from Aeroflex Indústria de Aerosol – were ordered withdrawn from the market pending further investigation. The measure is precautionary, not a final penalty, and remains in force for up to 90 days unless lifted.

In a separate action, Anvisa prohibited the sale, distribution, manufacturing, import, advertising and use of five dermatological products sold online by Dhermashop Saúde Ltda. The ban applies nationwide because the company lacked the required operating authorization and sanitary registration for the devices. The prohibition took effect on the date of publication in the official gazette.
