Anvisa suspends sale of KF Embutidos smoked sausage due to bacteria

Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has suspended the sale, manufacture, distribution, and consumption of KF Embutidos smoked sausage. The decision follows microbiological analysis detecting the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in batch 21/08/2026.

Fábrica de Embutidos Zanetti, the company responsible for the product, has initiated a voluntary recall of the contaminated batches. Anvisa noted that while voluntary recalls are preventive measures taken by companies, recalls become mandatory when a food product poses a direct risk to consumer health.
