Anwar Ibrahim calls for Muslim integrity and anti-corruption leadership

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on the Muslim community to serve as role models for society through morality, integrity, diligence, and the rejection of corruption and misappropriation. Speaking at the Majlis Maulid Akbar in Bukit Mertajam, Anwar emphasized that public respect for Muslims should stem from positive daily actions, such as working hard, keeping promises, and fulfilling trusts.

Anwar noted that Islam conveys a message of mercy and goodness to all, requiring followers to maintain the welfare of society regardless of race or religion. He stressed the importance of a balanced life that integrates faith, knowledge, intellect, and spiritual growth with material and physical progress.

Regarding the Malaysia MADANI development framework, the Prime Minister stated that progress cannot rely solely on policy, economy, or technology. He argued that these advancements must be supported by a strong foundation of faith and character to ensure societal values remain intact.
