Anwar Ibrahim considers Cabinet reshuffle after Anthony Loke's resignation offer

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has stated that he has not yet decided on a potential Cabinet reshuffle following an offer of resignation from Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook. Anwar indicated that he intends to meet with Loke to hear his views and understand his position before making any final decisions.

Loke, who is also the Secretary-General of the DAP, reportedly offered his resignation following the decision to grant a conditional pardon to former Prime Minister Najib Razak. The move follows Loke's expressed stance regarding the pardon, which the DAP finds difficult to accept. Anwar noted that Loke is a man of principle who has consistently opposed policies that suggest weakness or leniency toward corruption.

A formal letter regarding the resignation is expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister. A meeting is planned once Loke returns from his scheduled discussions in Shanghai.
