Anwar Ibrahim defines true independence during Penang visit

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that true independence involves more than just freedom from colonial rule. During a visit to Penang, he noted that citizens must also liberate their souls from greed, moral decay, and worldly desires.

While visiting the Sembilang Mosque in Seberang Jaya, the Prime Minister engaged with the local community and inspected public infrastructure at the Jalan Sembilang Hawker Centre. His visit included meetings with students and local residents to address community needs.

In a separate cultural context, FedEx Malaysia released a short film titled ‘Every Journey Begins with Someone’ to commemorate Malaysia's 69th Independence Day. The film depicts the nation's development through the journey of a package, highlighting the resilience and progress of the Malaysian people across different eras.
