Anwelle Foundation launches in Jirapa to support Upper West Region

The Anwelle Foundation has officially launched in Jirapa, aiming to address development challenges in Ghana’s Upper West Region. The organization intends to focus on education, youth empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and community development.

CEO Frank Anwelle stated that the foundation seeks to move beyond temporary aid to foster self-reliance. Key initiatives include expanding scholarships for underserved students, scaling vocational training, providing start-up grants for entrepreneurs, and improving clean water and healthcare infrastructure in rural areas.

Upper West Regional Minister Charles Lwanga Puozuing encouraged the foundation to prioritize the empowerment of young women through skills training, mentorship, and access to finance. He also recommended supporting the agricultural value chain, from production to market access, while emphasizing the need for collaboration between the government, private sector, and local communities to ensure lasting impact.
