Anya Damirón to present ‘El Capitán Control’ musical at Teatro Nacional

Dominican writer and creator Anya Damirón will present her new musical, ‘El Capitán Control’, at the Teatro Nacional on September 5 and 6. The family-oriented production features two daily performances at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Inspired by Damirón’s new story, the musical uses music and humor to explore themes of teamwork, authenticity, and non-violent conflict resolution. The production is directed by Joyce Roy with original music by Bonnet and features an 18-member cast led by Kenny Grullón and Tony Almont.

The project extends beyond the stage through a book version illustrated by Spanish artist José Fragoso. This publication is designed to be compatible with Damirón’s ‘Lápiz Mágico’ and will include voice recordings from the stage actors to enhance the storytelling experience.
