Anya Hindmarch and Waitrose launch limited-edition Universal Bag

Fashion designer Anya Hindmarch has partnered with the Waitrose podcast, ‘Dish from Waitrose’, to launch a limited-edition Universal Bag. The new iteration features a pink colourway with green and white striped handles and the designer’s signature googly eyes motif.

Available from late September for £15, the bags will be sold at 225 core Waitrose locations and online. Due to anticipated high demand, purchases are limited to three per customer. The bags are made from 100% recycled plastic, are weight-tested up to 12kg, and include a built-in freepost returns pocket to facilitate local recycling at the end of their lifecycle.

The Universal Bag initiative, launched in 2021 and manufactured by the Solent Group, aims to promote a circular economy. The project has collaborated with various retailers, including Tesco, Morrisons, Ocado, and Co-op, and has reportedly saved over 546 tonnes of plastic from landfills to date.
