Anyang City to host 13th Donation Day ceremony on November 27

Anyang City will hold the 13th Donation Day ceremony on November 27 at 4:00 PM in the City Hall auditorium. The event is held annually to honor the late Jeon Jae-jun, former chairman of Samdeok Paper, who donated a factory site valued at approximately 30 billion KRW (16,000 square meters) to the city. This donated land has since been transformed into Samdeok Park in Manan-gu, serving as a public recreational and cultural space.

Under the theme ‘Sharing that opens hearts, Anyang that opens hope,’ this year’s program focuses on normalizing a culture of giving. The ceremony will include awards for individuals contributing to the local donation culture and a donation handover ceremony. Additionally, the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea and the Anyang Local Community Security Council will conduct on-site fundraising activities.

Prior to the main ceremony, various participatory events will take place from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the City Hall courtyard and annex. Activities include caricature talent donations by artist Baek Jong-ha, clay soap making, and exhibitions of award-winning works from donation culture contests. Local businesses and organizations are also participating, including Ottogi, which is providing a food truck, and the Suri Welfare Center for the Disabled, which will operate a coffee truck to promote disability awareness.
