Anyer-Panarukan 3R program launched to boost regional economy
The governments of Situbondo Regency in East Java and Serang Regency in Banten have signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the Anyer-Panarukan 3R program. The initiative aims to optimize regional potential and increase local revenue by revitalizing the historical Great Post Road (Jalan Raya Pos).
The 3R framework stands for Road, Route, and Roots. The Road component focuses on the historical highway as a regional connector; Route aims to develop the Anyer-Panarukan corridor as a major travel and tourism destination; and Roots focuses on preserving the history, culture, and local wisdom of the communities along the path.
Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regional Development, Yandri Susanto, stated that the program is intended to become an annual event that integrates economic, cultural, and infrastructural movements. The corridor passes through thousands of villages with diverse characteristics, including agricultural, coastal, and tourism sectors, providing opportunities to elevate village-level economies and support MSMEs.
