Curry Barker sets May 2027 release for ‘Anything But Ghosts’

Anything But Ghosts Obsession film Curry Barker Golden Globes horror comedy

Director Curry Barker has set a release date of May 7, 2027, for his upcoming horror-comedy, ‘Anything But Ghosts’. Produced by Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, the film stars Barker and Cooper Tomlinson as amateur ghost hunters who encounter a real paranormal threat. The ensemble cast includes Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard, Violet McGraw, and Chris Reinacher.

Barker’s previous film, ‘Obsession’, became a massive global success, grossing over $500 million from a $750,000 budget. Due to its blend of horror and dark humor, Focus Features has submitted ‘Obsession’ to the Golden Globes in the Musical or Comedy categories rather than Drama. This decision follows the precedent of genre-bending films like ‘Get Out’ and ‘Poor Things’. The film’s lead actress, Inde Navarrette, has also emerged as a major awards contender following her performance in ‘Obsession’ much of which has become a social media phenomenon.
