Anzer honey harvest completed for 2026-2027 season
The harvest of the 2026-2027 season for the geographically indicated Anzer honey in the Anzer Ballıköy Plateau, located in the İkizdere district of Rize, has been completed. Muzaffer Deniz, President of the Anzer Ballıköy Agricultural Development Cooperative, reported a decrease in yield and production due to cold weather conditions in the highlands.
The collected honey is being gathered under the coordination of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and cooperative officials. The products will be sent to the Hacettepe University Faculty of Science for analysis. Once the testing process is finished, the new season's honey is expected to be available for sale in approximately 1.5 to 2 months.
Prices for the new season have been set at 7,000 TL per kilogram, 3,500 TL for a 500-gram jar, and 2,000 TL for a 250-gram jar. Deniz also issued a warning to consumers regarding counterfeit products, advising them to purchase only certified products with the official geographical indication logo to avoid fake honey sold under the Anzer name.
