Anzio reports beach disputes, storm damage payouts, and health initiatives
The coastal town of Anzio is seeing various local developments involving public order, economic recovery, and community health.
Law enforcement, including the Polizia di Stato and Carabinieri, intervened at the Grotte di Nerone beach following a dispute over the use of sunbeds and umbrellas. Eight Tunisian citizens were identified; three adults facing expulsion proceedings for being in the country irregularly, and all involved were reported for threatening public officials. Two minors were placed under social emergency care.
In economic news, the municipality of Anzio has completed the disbursement of public funds to the Tirrena S. r. l. beach establishment. This follows an eight-year delay in reimbursement for damages caused by severe storms and high winds in October 2018.
Additionally, the Asl Roma 6 health authority is conducting its fifth annual ‘Spiagge Serene’ initiative. Health professionals visited the Lido di Nerone beach to provide medical demonstrations, such as responding to cardiac arrests and airway obstructions, and to offer information on preventing mosquito-borne illnesses.
