Anzoátegui residents report wildlife harassment of an anteater

In Anzoátegui, Venezuela, residents and animal rights defenders have reported an incident of wildlife harassment involving an anteater. Video footage captured several youths cornering the animal on the Costanera Avenue in Barcelona. The group reportedly used motorcycles to intimidate the creature by revving engines at close range and physically blocking its path to prevent escape.

Local community members and environmental organizations are calling for urgent intervention from police and the Public Ministry. They are demanding the identification of those involved to ensure sanctions are applied under the Law for the Protection of Domestic, Free, and Captive Fauna.
