Ao Senden threatens action over IMDH radiologist shortage

The Ao Senden organization has rejected a response from the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW) regarding a critical shortage of radiodiagnosis specialists at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) in Mokokchung. The group has announced it will initiate its own course of action starting October 21.

The dispute stems from the transfer of a senior specialist radiologist from IMDH to the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, despite requests from the Ao Senden to delay the transfer until a replacement arrived. While a junior specialist was transferred from Phek to IMDH and a sonologist was provided, the organization stated that “nothing short of a Radiodiagnosis Specialist will be accepted at IMDH.”

In a letter addressed to the Principal Director of the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland, the organization criticized the department's attitude as a “theatre of superiority instead of service to the needy.” The Ao Senden holds the department solely responsible for any untoward incidents that may occur during their planned actions.
