Display technology advances with new OLED manufacturing and high-refresh monitors

The display industry is seeing significant advancements in both manufacturing processes and consumer hardware. LG Display has introduced FLiPP, a maskless RGB-OLED patterning process. This method uses photolithography instead of fine metal masks, increasing production yields for 23.5-inch panels from approximately 75 percent to over 93 percent while improving brightness and lifespan.

In the consumer market, several manufacturers are releasing high-performance monitors. AOC has launched the AGON PRO AGP277QKDC, an OLED gaming monitor capable of 540 Hz at QHD resolution or 720 Hz at lower resolutions. Additionally, AOC's U27G4Z offers a dual-mode Fast IPS panel that switches between 4K at 240 Hz and Full HD at 480 Hz. LG is also seeing price drops for its 34-inch UltraGear QHD OLED monitor on Amazon.

Budget and productivity options are also expanding. Xiaomi has released the REDMI A27U in China, a 27-inch 4K IPS monitor priced at approximately $179, designed for office and media use. Meanwhile, ViewSonic has launched the VX27G58-2K-9, a 27-inch 2K Fast IPS monitor featuring a 240 Hz refresh rate and competitive pricing in the Chinese market.
