Aoibheann Clarke, 16, Dies After Collapsing in Wexford Gaelic Football Final

Sixteen‑year‑old Aoibheann Clarke collapsed during extra time of the Girls Minor Division 6 Shield Gaelic football final in Taghmon, County Wexford, Ireland. Her father was serving as an assistant referee when she fell. Spectators and officials performed chest compressions, and paramedics, police, fire crews and an air ambulance responded. She was taken to hospital by ambulance but died shortly thereafter. The match was abandoned.

The Taghmon Camross GAA Club and the wider Wexford GAA community expressed deep grief, thanking first responders and urging respect for the family’s privacy. Clarke was remembered as a talented player with no known underlying health condition.
