Aomori Governor meets with 10 mayors to discuss regional priorities

Governor Miyashita of Aomori Prefecture met with mayors from 10 cities in Hirosaki to discuss regional priority issues. During the meeting, Mayor Nishi of Aomori City presented a formal request for increased prefectural cooperation regarding measures to prevent damage caused by Asiatic black bears, specifically calling for secure capture systems to ensure resident safety.

In response, Governor Miyashita emphasized the importance of training staff, noting that the prefecture intends to conduct training sessions on technical skills, such as the use of tranquilizer guns. Other key topics raised by the mayors included childcare support from Hirosaki City and the maintenance of regional public transportation from Hachinohe City. The prefecture will review these requests to determine potential budget allocations.
