Aomori Michinoku Bank launches support app for foreign workers

Aomori Michinoku Bank has partnered with system developer SocioFuture to launch “Cogwil,” a mobile application designed to support foreign workers and their employing companies. The service officially commenced operations on September 14.

Developed in response to labor shortages and an increasing number of foreign workers in Aomori Prefecture, the app aims to mitigate communication barriers and the administrative burdens associated with identity verification. Key features include a translation chat function that displays Japanese text alongside multiple languages, as well as tools to assist with Japanese language learning, including pronunciation and context.

The application currently supports Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Tagalog, with plans to expand language options. While currently available for Android, an iOS version is expected in the future. The service is free to use.
