Aomori students conduct joint fire evacuation drill

In Aomori City, students from Ono Elementary School and Aomori Chuo High School participated in a joint evacuation drill simulating a fire. Approximately 1,000 participants took part in the exercise, which was held at Aomori Chuo High School, a designated evacuation site for Ono Elementary School.

Coinciding with Disaster Prevention Month in September, the drill aimed to make disaster preparedness a more personal issue for students. Following the initial evacuation procedures, members of the Japan Self-Defense Forces provided instruction on how to set up emergency equipment, such as disaster tents and portable beds, at evacuation centers.
